Nissan is preparing to officially present the updated version of the Patrol SUV in the Nismo version, which has already caused a wide resonance in automotive circles, especially in the Middle East. On social networks, in particular on the pages of Middle Eastern insiders on Instagram, the first unofficial images of the new product in the Y63 body appeared, which marks the next generation of the popular flagship SUV of the Japanese brand. Despite the lack of an official premiere, the appearance of the model is practically not hidden and most of the design decisions characteristic of the tuned Nismo line are already obvious.
The updated Patrol receives a significant number of sporty accents, which are traditionally used by Nissan in the Nismo versions. Immediately noticeable are a more aggressive front bumper with large air intakes, a redesigned radiator grille with large "honeycombs", darkened front and rear headlights, massive wheel arches with new overlays and original aluminum wheels, probably 22-inch, which complement the sporty image of the car. At the rear of the body you can see a clearly pronounced diffuser, as well as the characteristic central brake light, similar to that in Formula 1 cars.
As for the technical component, the new generation Nissan Patrol Nismo, according to experts and photo spies from the United Arab Emirates, will receive a significantly improved suspension. The predecessor of the model was equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers, and the ground clearance was reduced from 275 to 260 mm, which gives the car a more sporty behavior on the road. It is possible that the same concept will be preserved for the new Patrol Nismo. In addition, a fundamental update of the power unit has been made: instead of the atmospheric V8, a biturbo 3.5-liter V6 engine will now be used, which corresponds to new global trends in reducing volume while increasing power and efficiency.
This engine is already familiar from other models of the alliance, in particular the Infiniti QX80. In the standard version, it produces 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, but for the Patrol Nismo, a boosted version is expected, up to at least 456 horsepower, which will significantly improve the dynamic characteristics of the car. Such a technical configuration will allow the new Patrol to remain not only a luxury SUV for city roads, but also a competitive player in the high-performance SUV segment.
The interior also promises to be in line with the sporty character. According to preliminary data, the interior will feature decorative carbon fiber inserts, redesigned seats with different upholstery and emphasized red contrasting stitching, as well as changed graphic elements on the dashboard. This should emphasize the uniqueness of the model and its difference from the usual versions of the Patrol.
At the time of publication, the highest position in the hierarchy of Patrol models is occupied by the Platinum version, which in the United Arab Emirates costs from 389 thousand dirhams, which is approximately 106 thousand US dollars. It is obvious that the Patrol Nismo will increase in price by at least 5%, given the volume of improvements and the exclusive status of this modification. Since the vehicles have already appeared on public roads and are not hidden under camouflage, it can be safely assumed that the official premiere will take place in the coming weeks or even days.
