The world is going through a number of challenges and in this context the role of regional business is becoming increasingly key to the economy. This was said in Burgas by Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Krasimir Yakimov during a business conference. According to him, it is the regions that are the places where sustainable development models are born – close to people, resources and reality.
European funds and simplified procedures for business
Yakimov emphasized that Burgas companies are among the most active candidates for financing under European programs. “Local business, however, needs not only financial support, but also administrative, expert and strategic“, he noted.
The Deputy Minister also pointed out specific changes in the Investment Promotion Act:

a simplified application process;

time limits for reviewing documents halved;

reduced requirements for self-participation;

simplified certification process.
„In support of investors, changes were introduced to the Investment Promotion Act - we improved the application process, simplified the certification process, halved the deadlines for reviewing documents, and reduced the requirements for self-participation. These measures benefit companies and also encourage new international and local investors,“ said Yakimov.
Open measures for over 300 million BGN.
Currently, companies can apply for several key programs with a total budget of over 300 million BGN.

Modernization and digitalization of enterprises – a budget of 80 million leva, aimed at micro- and small companies for creating online stores, improving cybersecurity, etc. The deadline is September 26.

Implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies – 108 million leva for artificial intelligence, 3D printing, processing of large databases. The deadline is December 15.

Improving energy efficiency – 126 million leva for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Be even more active. Apply, take advantage of these programs. They will support the development of your ideas,“ the Deputy Minister urged business representatives.
