Russia confirms its commitment to Kazakhstan to build the first nuclear power plant in the republic on time and in full. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this at a press conference after talks with Kazakh Foreign Minister Ermek Kosherbayev.
„Russia is among Kazakhstan's leading trading partners and the largest investor in the Kazakh economy. Much attention is being paid to promoting energy security through joint thermal and hydroelectric power projects,“ Lavrov noted. “We welcomed the decision made in June this year to choose the Russian state corporation “Rosatom“ as the leader of the international consortium for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the republic.
