Škoda Group - the largest engineering holding in the Czech Republic, specializing in the production of vehicles and their components, plans to establish a production facility in Uzbekistan, the ČTK news agency reported.
Škoda Group's Uzbek subsidiary, according to the statement, will assemble railway vehicles, provide maintenance and service throughout their service life, as well as train and improve the skills of local specialists.
„The Central Asian region is a promising market for us, which we have long targeted in our business strategy. “High-level talks between Uzbek representatives and European business leaders confirm that European technologies and experience can significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the country's transport infrastructure“, the agency quotes Petr Novotny, CEO of the Czech holding.
According to the agency, Novotny recently participated in a meeting of European entrepreneurs with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Brussels. The meeting discussed plans to enter the Uzbek market by creating a joint venture.
