The conflict with the US and Israel does not affect trade - 1

Iran's armed conflict with the US and Israel has not had a significant impact on the Islamic Republic's trade with the countries of Central Asia, Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Alireza Khakikian told reporters in response to a question from TASS.

„As for trade with Tajikistan, I can say that there are currently no issues that need to be resolved. As for economic and trade relations with Tajikistan and the region as a whole, all relevant agencies are currently carrying out their work and all customs authorities in Iran are working in this direction. And there is no reason for particular concern“, he said.

In January 2025, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian paid a state visit to Dushanbe. Following talks with Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon, 23 new documents on cooperation in various fields were signed. According to Tajikistan, by the end of 2025, mutual trade between the two countries had reached almost 484 million USD, an increase of 28.1% compared to the previous year. Iran ranks fifth in terms of trade turnover in Tajikistan's total foreign trade, accounting for 4.5%.
