Will there be an increase in fuel prices? The chairman of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association Svetoslav Benchev commented on the topic in “Hello, Bulgaria”.
He is of the opinion that the prices will hold, since at this stage there are no factors that speak of an increase in prices. Benchev said that in Bulgaria there is “fierce competition” on the market. The expert explained that the lowest fuel prices in the European Union are in Bulgaria.
Benchev said that there is no way fuel prices will go down with EU politics. He pointed out that Bulgaria will now have to meet other requirements, such as emissions trading for buildings and transport, which will come into effect in 2027. The expert added that this would raise prices between 0.40 and 0.80 Lev. Benchev indicated that new requirements for biofuels will also be introduced.
