Kazakhstan authorities intend to reduce non-productive budget expenditure items by 300 billion tenge ($679 million) in the current financial year . This was announced by the press service of the country's president, Kassam-Jomart Tokaev, after his meeting with the Minister of Finance, Madi Takiev.
The saved funds will be redirected to activities with maximum economic effect.
Takiev presented the country's president Kasim-Zormat Tokaev with information about the modernization of the customs infrastructure located on the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union with third countries. “Implementation of the project will allow us to increase throughput up to 6 times and reduce travel time by 2 times, as well as monitor the inspection of goods and vehicles online around the clock. The reconstruction of all checkpoints is expected to be completed at the end of 2024, the press service explained.
