In 2023, e-business applications in the European Union show a different degree of use, which depends on the size of the companies. Software such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and business intelligence (BI) software are among the key tools businesses use to optimize their operations.
Data from Eurostat reveals that within the year, 50% of companies in the EU have integrated at least one of these software in their work. Among the Member States, Denmark (74%), Finland (71%) and Belgium (67%) demonstrate the highest degree of integration. At the same time, in Romania and Bulgaria, respectively, only 24% and 26% of companies have implemented similar technologies.
Eurostat's analysis shows a significant difference in the use of these technologies between small and large enterprises: 38% of small enterprises use ERP systems, while for large enterprises this percentage reaches 86%. The difference is also significant in the application of BI software, where only 11% of small companies use it, compared to 63% of large ones. CRM systems are integrated by 22% of small and 61% of large enterprises, highlighting the importance of scale for technology adoption in business.
