From June 1, the summer season officially started on the native beaches. Every strip that is given over to farming should already be cleared and have the required number of water lifeguards and medical stations on it.
On the North beach in Burgas, the price of shade traditionally remains the cheapest - BGN 1.20 for an umbrella and a sunbed. In most places along the Southern Black Sea coast, the price of beach accessories will not be changed this year either, because of the values stipulated in the concession contracts. There will be a leva price increase only on a few beaches in Burgas.
Cleaned, dewormed and tidy. The beaches in the south are waiting for the first vacationers. Concessionaires are also adamant that the shade will not increase in price. "On Sozopol-Harmani beach the price is BGN 8, on Harmani-Central beach it is BGN 7, Pomorie - BGN 7, Nessebar – BGN 8. On the beaches in Sunny Beach, the prices are BGN 10 each," says Kiril Spasov - Association of Sea Beach Concessionaires.
The only one who will raise prices this season is the beach concessionaire in Kraimorie. "Last year the umbrella was BGN 8, the sunbeds were BGN 7 each. This year, the umbrella will be BGN 8 again, and only the sunbeds will have a levche on top, and this includes a table. The chalet will be absolutely free, i.e. it is calculated in the price of the set", said Nikolay Dimitrov - Kraimorie beach concessionaire
He also has an explanation for the price increase. "First of all, the indexation that the Ministry of Tourism makes us every year. This year it is 9.5%, for comparison I have raised them by 10 percent. Last year it was 15.3%, i.e. in two years, the contract price has risen 25%. Wages are also higher. The minimum wage was raised. This also raised the insurances. For comparison, last year I paid BGN 290 for insurance for a lifeguard, this year I will pay BGN 410," Dimitrov claims.
