The vote of no confidence will not succeed. This was stated on "This Saturday and Sunday" on bTV by journalist Emilia Milcheva. This week, "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria", MECH and APS submitted the fifth vote of no confidence against the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet, from "Velichye" and "Vazrazhdane" also announced that they would support it. According to her, the two parties are playing a "dirty trick" with their support, and PP-DB will receive criticism.
Political scientist Prof. Rosen Stoyanov explained that the admissibility of the vote will be decided by the MPs:
„This is another individual action of the government on the part of the Prime Minister. In special situations that provide an opportunity for deliberate interpretation and political dividends of the opposition or a kind of scandal, they should be communicated in the public space at a not so high level. The figure of a spokesperson should appear, who should be sent by the government“, he added.
Milcheva said that the figure of a spokesperson would not work in a GERB government, where there is a “strong MV vein“: “What Mr. Mitov did is only the tip of the pyramid. Behind this pyramid we have an absolute protection of our own in the MV. It is high time for citizens to create their own Ministry of Interior, because the one we have, the Ministry of Interior, does not protect us. In the case of Commissioner Kozhuharov, there are many unknowns that need to be clarified“.
The journalist commented that there is no way that Interior Minister Daniel Mitov could resign at a time when there is a vote of no confidence, because that would mean that the opposition is right.
“The throne is shared with Mr. Peevski. Borisov is not in that situation in which he was absolutely omnipotent and could decide everything. The personnel policy in the Ministry of Interior for the top positions is coordinated. We saw what happened with the position of Secretary General. If you are impressed, it is the professionals in the Ministry of Interior who are not talking about the topic in Ruse“, she added.
Stoyanov commented that President Rumen Radev missed the right moment to dismiss “Dondukov“ 2 and to join active politics as an opposition.
