Peace and solidarity on a global scale must be continuously promoted – Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew united around this understanding during their meeting today.
The two spoke in New York, where Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is leading the Bulgarian delegation for the 80th regular session of the UN General Assembly. During the meeting, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov discussed with the Ecumenical Patriarch the church's commitment to contemporary problems of humanity, the future of children and the protection of nature.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of human virtues and faith as a support and source of wisdom. Bartholomew congratulated Prime Minister Zhelyazkov on Bulgaria's success in joining the eurozone. The Ecumenical Patriarch wished
success, peace, prosperity and happiness to the Bulgarian people.
