Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov: Peevski has strongly entered the field of political populism, before that Dogan was much more moderate

"So far, Peevski is unsuccessfully trying to break through in the Socialist Party. If he has done his job as a party leader and has profiled the voters, he has seen that a large part of them are low-income. He speaks directly to his voters.", commented political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoychev

Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov: Peevski has strongly entered the field of political populism, before that Dogan was much more moderate - 1

We have a tradition of bringing up internal scandals within the EU, the question is how effective such actions are. If they are hoping for external pressure, they have missed the period, because it has long been impossible to influence the government. This was stated by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoychev on BNT in connection with the request of MEPs from "Renew Europe" on the suspension of payments under the PVU for Bulgaria due to the arrest of Blagomir Kotsev, quoted by novini.bg.

Political scientist Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov believes: "In our country, unfortunately, we look outside for salvation. This is very pessimistic, but there is also a logical explanation - if we leave things here to their own devices, we will get into some quagmires. The question of suspending a tranche under the PVU is justified - we have a very serious problem with justice. It is not pleasant to take off our dirty shirts in front of Brussels."

According to Cholakov Peevski has very strongly entered the field of political populism, while before Dogan was much more moderate: "He speaks like a hardcore populist, he has long positioned himself in the Euro-Atlantic niche. His political instinct works in the right direction, this brings him voters. With this extraordinary energy, he solves real problems."

Stoychev also noted: "So far, Peevski has been unsuccessfully trying to break into the SO. If he has done his job as a party leader and has profiled the voters, he has seen that a large part of them are low-income. He speaks directly to his voters."
