How can Bulgaria have five prime ministers and why does the parliament work for less than 5 minutes on Fridays? This was commented on in the studio of “Face to Face“ on bTV by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoev and journalist Yovo Nikolov.
“The job of the majority is to ensure a quorum. Because when Boyko Borisov was in the role of opposition and did not enter the parliament – his response to calls to enter the hall was: “Find a quorum“. That is, "We currently have the same situation," Nikolov said.
Regarding Boyko Borisov's comment that "Bulgaria has five prime ministers" - him, Slavi Trifonov, Atanas Zafirov, Rosen Zhelyazkov and Delyan Peevski, the journalist commented: "A lot of grandmothers, a weak baby. When no one is responsible, and we rely on five prime ministers - they, until they figure out who will take what, who will give what, and the state goes to the cinema."
“Sometimes it is good for the parliament not to legislate. This shows that in fact state affairs depend on a procedure and this procedure is happening in front of all of us. A few hundred kilometers east of us - there are no such problems. The Russian Duma always has a quorum and always meets and accepts, and there are no five prime ministers“, the political scientist pointed out.
Stoev also commented that he had heard how deputies posted abroad usually “go to discos and restaurants“, and do not do real work. “From their point of view, they go to have a walk. That is why they sign up for the friendship committees, in view of – who feels like traveling where“, he added.
“The job of the parliament is to control the work of the ministers and the government. The fact that Delyan Peevski is impersonating the head of state is ridiculous. Boyko Borisov, after all, is a mandate holder. He has a bearing on this, no matter how much this government does not recognize him. This water in Pleven has not dried up now, it is a process“, the journalist pointed out.
