The cynicism of the ruling party towards medical specialists continues for another week. We saw this week that there were protests in Sofia, Plovdiv, Heidelberg and other cities in the EU. Meanwhile, while they are protesting and no one is paying attention to them, the ruling coalition has set about distributing power. This government is based solely on consumption. The fact that something is being done for the people is a complete illusion. This was said by PP-DB MP Vasil Pandov on the sidelines of the parliament, quoted by novini.bg.
"Once again, we requested that a health care committee be convened to consider the Law on the Salaries of Doctors and Nurses. On Tuesday, the chairman of the committee and the other GERB deputies said that they would not come to work. Although we had the necessary signatures and were obliged to convene a committee, there was none. The working group was also postponed because the GERB and DPS - New Beginning deputies are not coming to work. The state stops working, abdicating. We are not giving up and have submitted a new request to the chairman of the National Assembly, who, according to the rules, has the right to convene an extraordinary meeting of the health care committee. We hope that this will happen next week at the latest", Pandov further explained.
For five months, the government has been hiding in the bushes so as not to respond to the young doctors and nurses, believes Asen Vassilev. "They are completely cynical about their demands. We will continue to collect signatures and ask for an extraordinary committee so that the bill can be considered on second reading before October 31, when the budget must be submitted", he added.
My information at the moment is that a budget for the NHIF has been prepared based on current legislation - without the increases for doctors and nurses. The government's tactic is to beat the ball until October 31 and say that there will be no funds for them, Vassilev further pointed out.
