This so-called crisis was caused by Borisov himself. Some exaggerated expectations were created that there would be a reformatting of the coalition formula, but today we learned that there would be no significant changes. The news here is that Borisov turned out to be the loser, because other factors in the government prevailed. He made such a comment in an interview for the program “The Day Live“ on NOVA NEWS political scientist Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov.
Regarding today's confrontation between Borisov and Peevski in one of the meeting rooms in parliament, Lyubenov noted that he was puzzled by the fact that the other coalition partners of GERB, in the person of the BSP and ITN, were not present at this meeting.
„Borisov is a king of shifting responsibility to others, he is never guilty of anything, as we know. I don't know what his claims are to the BSP and ITN. If he is dissatisfied with something, let him say what he is dissatisfied with... We have not seen anything like that. This is an attempt to get out of the situation with such methods that divert attention from the essence of the problem, and the essence is that this government is increasingly dominated by the DPS-New Beginning. I even doubt that Borisov already has control over his own party“, commented the political scientist.
On the topic of the possible replacement of the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova with Raya Nazaryan, Lyubenov believes that the goal is thus the so-called “house book“ to be entirely filled with people close to GERB and DPS-New Beginning.
With the replacement of Kiselova, GERB and DPS-New Beginning guarantee that in the event of early elections, which I expect to be held in 2026, they will have control over the political processes and the election campaign of the next caretaker government, explained Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov.
The political analyst expects the state machine to immediately activate against Rumen Radev as soon as his presidential term ends.
„Under the control of the services, GERB and DPS-New Beginning will have a toolkit with which to attack their opponents. If the president appears on the scene, the „bats“ will also be activated against him“, he is convinced.
Regarding the upcoming adoption of the budget for next year, Milen Lyubenov predicts serious tension not only between the ruling party and the opposition, but also within the ruling majority.
