GERB leader Boyko Borisov predicts that there will be more revenue in the upcoming budget and reassured that taxes will not be touched. He explained why he sought support for the government from the MPs of "DPS - New Beginning". He motivated the political move with the upcoming challenges facing the country and the need for a stable majority to support the cabinet's policy in the plenary hall, BNT reported.
Boyko Borisov said that they did not desert from power because of the upcoming challenges related to the adoption of the first budget in euros. He emphasized that our country has received trust in advance from our partners for our accession to the eurozone and now this trust must be defended. He assured that no tax increase is planned.
"Revenues will be higher, over a billion more for pensioners, over a billion 200 more for salaries, taxes will not be touched", he pointed out.
He explained again why they are counting on Peevski's support for the cabinet. He reminded that GERB, BSP and ITN together have 102 MPs.
"Two from the BSP, Radev's people, do not vote, they are always "against". It becomes 100. In order to have a government, 21 more are needed. PP-DB came out and said: "we are a firm opposition and we are for the destruction of all of you, and the more scheming GERB are cool, but without Borisov". Both the BSP and the ITN have no solution, they have no solution, because they have talked a lot in advance, and in politics you have to measure your words, because sometimes when you spit, you have to lick it later. I apologize for the expression, but it is accurate".
Borisov is not afraid to take the ridicule that is poured on him because of the support from "DPS - New Beginning".
"We are now signing for two factories in the military industry and all this had to be thrown away because we had to please those who say "Borisov - Peevski". To tell you honestly, I have no fear at all. We invited their group, I explained to them the entire tasks. They said: "everything that concerns the well-being of the people", they love this word for the people, "we are ready to support it".
He noted that everyone was surprised by the US sanctions on Russian oil products. He expects the government to find a quick solution to the problem.
"It is good that there is a one-month deadline and I hope that by then Presidents Trump and Putin will come to an agreement, because otherwise this will be a problem. Not at the refinery, but at the payment of gas stations".
Borisov announced what really scares him at this moment.
"This is the approaching war. I feel it because, unlike others, I know them personally. I know them personally. And I see how it is getting worse and if this one month does not lead to a de-escalation between the United States and Russia and especially after November 21 if they do not reach an agreement, this crisis will be the least evil that awaits us. War will knock on our door. If someone asks me: "Is Borisov afraid". I am not afraid of Radev, nor of Peevski, nor of any criminal, but I feel animal fear of an impending war".
Borisov participates in a regional academy of GERB youth.
