There is not a drop of morality and conscience in Bulgarian politics

Peevski is in power. No one can stop him. He has an entire government and is in an extremely advantageous position. He comes out and says what the government will do. When this government fails, and it could fail tomorrow for objective reasons - if gasoline becomes 10 leva, Peevski will come out and say – they failed. At the moment, he both holds the entire government and is not responsible for it. An ideal position – win-win.

This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by Ivo Siromahov, former host of "Slavi's Show", publicist and writer.

When asked if it is a myth that the state belongs to Peevski, he offered his version – let's take a walk to a smaller municipality and see what's happening there:

"These municipalities are states deliberately by the state without a budget, the minimum to function. And they are told - if you want something to be done in your municipality, you have to apply and the state will allocate you a budget for some project. However, they tell the mayor, regardless of which party he is from, if you want your project to pass, you have to provide us with so many votes in the next elections. Buying votes in the Roma neighborhoods is not a problem. The big vote buying goes like this. (…) There is a fusion of the mafia with the state. It's probably not just Peevski. There are probably other, smaller local players inside. And bigger ones, connected to business interests, with the criminal world. All this has grown together and is completely keeping people in small municipalities."

We don't know how ethnic Turks perceive DPS-NN. Sociological surveys are currently frivolous, because we don't know who the players will be in the next elections, nor when these elections will be, the former presenter pointed out.

"Everyone who has entered this game has felt it. Where are Yane Yanev, Mareshki, Valeri Simeonov, Karakachanov, Barekov now? Does anyone remember them? What did they leave behind? ITN are already in this fate, along with the mortal remains of the BSP. You can't choose the role of a lackey in politics and expect it to last long. "The lackeys always change," said Siromakhov about the price of the ITN's participation in power.

He defined the bill withdrawn by the ITN and turned into a scandalous bill to criminalize the disclosure of personal information as "legally untenable", but it passed unanimously in the legal committee and said that upon learning the news from the media, he thought - the ITN cannot introduce such a law.

"At first I was in such shock and said to myself – some mistake has been made here. And I said to myself – they are in a lot of trouble, they are in big trouble."

There is not a drop of morality, a drop of conscience in Bulgarian politics," Siromakhov reports.

Currently, the state of the media is very sad. Journalists do not have access to politicians. It is a terrible lie that they will renovate the old building of the National Assembly. In the new building - the former party house, there is a return to authoritarian politics, in which citizens have no importance, and journalists are crammed into a room and no one talks to them, he stated.

Let's think about how many of the deputies, other than the chairmen of parliamentary groups, speak to the media, they are "button pushers" who "don't have the right to speak", Siromakhov added and insisted:

"Media conquest is voluntary. It is not forced."

The job of the media is always to be in opposition. The big problem is what the owners think. There are few islands of free speech left. Everything is posted on websites, on the Internet, Siromakhov commented on the program "Politically Incorrect".

"Borisov's vulgarity is not news, we have been living with it since the time when he was the chief secretary, then the mayor, three times the prime minister. The humiliating thing is that the people who ask him questions tolerate such treatment. He is not an institution at the moment, he is an ordinary deputy. We registered his vulgarity, but we need to register some opposition to this vulgarity."

After Kostov, the process of seducing journalism began even at the time when Borisov was the chief secretary - – "flirtatious", "somehow they fell in love with him, they started praising him in their media not out of fear, but out of love" and "his halo was created by a cohort of reporters in love, fluttering around him". As prime minister, he has already started to sow in a plowed field, he explained. However, in his words, in recent years, violence towards the media has already been felt, and there are no consequences from this behavior.

The arrest of people is now used as repression, not as protection of the laws. We have a serious problem – we need to answer the question whether we are a state governed by the rule of law and why no one in parliament is screaming about this topic. "Who are you to say who will buy "Lukoil" in a market economy. This is not the Soviet Union", the publicist also believes. According to him, we are currently in disintegration, half of Bulgaria is without water, and "children are being slaughtered in the malls".
