The construction of the new units at the Kozloduy NPP, small modular reactors, and artificial intelligence gigafactories are among the key projects for the development of the energy sector, which require excellently prepared and motivated young people. This was said by the Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov, who attended the signing of framework agreements between Kozloduy NPP - New Power and four universities for cooperation in staffing future projects. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, executive directors of energy companies and other officials.

The framework agreements with the Technical University of Sofia, the Technical University of Varna, the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev“ and the Technical University of Gabrovo will create opportunities for training students in bachelor's and master's programs in priority programs for the NPP “Kozloduy – New capacities“ EAD, including “Electric power engineering and electrical equipment“, “Automation, robotics and computer control systems“, “Automation, information and control equipment“ and others.

The Minister of Education Krassimir Valchev emphasized the government's active policy of linking the needs of the labor market with those of companies, illustrating this with the increased enrollment of students in technical universities. With additional enrollment, scholarships and other opportunities, we encourage students to choose technical majors for their career development, thus responding to the growing needs of the economy, he emphasized.

According to Minister Stankov, for the first time, NPP “Kozloduy – New capacities“ EAD is concluding partnership agreements simultaneously with four leading educational institutions, with which it will partner in providing personnel for the development of nuclear energy in the country. The construction of the two new units at the NPP “Kozloduy“ site is the largest project in the Bulgarian economy for decades to come. This provides excellent opportunities for hundreds of Bulgarian companies, as well as many qualified young people to contribute to economic growth, but also to work in a modern, promising, interesting, challenging environment. In close cooperation with universities, we have every chance to find the best among them and motivate them to work in Bulgaria and for Bulgaria, concluded Minister Stankov.
