Boyko Borisov on Budget 2026: At this stage, no significant changes are planned in the main parameters of the macro framework - 1

The social and social security systems in the country must operate sustainably and predictably, without being subjected to unnecessary pressure. We united around this conclusion during our meeting today with the Chairman of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions Plamen Dimitrov and the President of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions "Podkrepa" Dimitar Manolov. During the conversation, we also discussed the topic of changes in social security contributions, which is part of the planned steps in the coming years. The gradual increase will be distributed between employers and employees, so that the balance between the two sides is maintained.

Our dialogue on the details and parameters of Budget 2026 was constructive. It was emphasized that at this stage no significant changes are planned in the main parameters of the macro framework.

This was published on his Facebook page by GERB leader Boyko Borisov after the meeting held at GERB headquarters with the unions regarding the parameters of Budget 2026. In addition to Borisov, Denitsa Sacheva and Temenuzhka Petkova participated in the meeting from GERB. Here is more from Borisov's comments after the meeting:

We also reached an agreement that undoubtedly the incomes of those working in the fields of education, healthcare and security must remain sustainable, because they are a guarantee of stability and development of our country.

I am confident that constructive talks on the budget will continue within the framework of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation this week. I believe that if changes are required during the process of talks between all parties, they will be minimal and well-argued. I believe that the common goal of all of us is to unite around a responsible budget that preserves the financial stability of the country and guarantees the sustainability of all key public systems.
