We will dedicate the session to the draft budget. It will be submitted to the National Assembly today. The budget is coalition, it is not left, right, liberal or conservative. It does not create policies, but follows them. This was announced by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov before the government session, quoted by Nova TV.
"We have held the social dialogue in recent weeks, despite the fact that it is not in the NSTS format. We have heard arguments, opinions and criticism from all participants in socio-political life. Is another budget possible? In this geopolitical and national situation - no. Either they reproach us for having reforms, or for having too many. They claim that the expenditure part of the budget is unjustified. A debate is held when there is enough time for it. In 2026, we will talk with the social partners about investments and reforms - in the tax-insurance and pension model, as well as in the administration. We want a reasoned social dialogue, not spontaneous", the prime minister commented.
In his words, there are different expectations - everyone for more. "More state, but also a liberal economy. More social spending, but without change in revenue sources, more wages, lower redistribution. More spending on security, education and healthcare, investments, but without changing the tax-insurance model", Zhelyazkov summarized.
"Expectations for the budget are greater, but the hopes are that it will stabilize public finances so that we can have the long-delayed conversation. Meanwhile, expenses will increase, but revenues will not at the same pace," the prime minister believes.
