This is the only possible budget and for this reason extremely difficult balances have been found in it. This was commented by the deputy chairwoman of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group Denitsa Sacheva to journalists before the National Conference “Attractive Professions for a Sustainable Future“.
“The budget is certainly designed to favor various protests, but it is the result of the support it can find in parliament“, commented Sacheva regarding the employers' readiness for protests.
“This is support from various political and parliamentary groups that have different views on how to govern the state“, she added.
We have familiarized ourselves with the employers' proposals in advance and I think it will be extremely difficult to make a new budget, Sacheva also said.
According to her, one of the significant reasons for the expenses in the budget is the automatism and the interrelationship between the minimum and average working salary.
„As a political party, we have made a commitment to change this, it could happen next year“, she said.
„There are many ideas regarding spending“, Sacheva also commented.
According to her, laying off civil servants will not reduce spending in the budget.
„Civil servants are protected by law and such layoffs cannot happen overnight. If there is a large number of unemployed – this also increases costs“, Sacheva specified, quoted by BTA.
She also added that some of the vacant positions could be cut, but it must be carefully considered because there are state administrations in need of staff.
“There is obviously something to be done in the field of costs, but this requires difficult long-term decisions“, Sacheva pointed out.
