Today, residents of Sofia are protesting against the parking reform adopted by the Sofia Municipal Council. The dissatisfaction is against the double increase in the prices of the blue and green zones and their expansion, BNT recalled.
The protest is organized on Facebook and will be held in front of the municipality building at 1 p.m.
The citizens are demanding that the reform be stopped until enough parking spaces and real parking solutions are provided. The citizens remind that they have been suffering from a shortage of parking spaces and broken streets for years.
The local government's promise is that 50% of the collected amounts from parking and fines will remain in the districts, and the other half - in the municipality for projects.
