One of the most exciting lectures was held at the University of Library Science and Information Technologies (UniBIT) within the framework of the "Security Month" initiative, led by Chief Commissioner Dr. Anton Zlatanov - Director of the Main Directorate "Border Police" and a long-time professional and manager in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
He began the meeting with the words: "I am a police officer! And I think I can be useful to all of you today, especially with theory and practice." These words set the tone for a frank, professional and extremely human conversation with the students and doctoral candidates of UniBIT. In his speech, Chief Commissioner Zlatanov made a natural and logical liaison with the public lecture held a few days ago by the Director of the Directorate for the Prevention of Corruption and Corruption (DGBP) – Chief Commissioner Boyan Raev, emphasizing that the two work in close cooperation for the benefit of the state and society. This continuity between the two key directorates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was met with particular interest by the audience, who had the opportunity to peek into the “kitchen“ of the strategically important structures of internal security.
Both public lectures were attended by extremely strong interest from young people, whose questions and activity showed their growing commitment to the topics of national security, modern threats and the role of institutions.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of the employees of the Main Directorate “Border Police“: Junior Inspector Petar Todor – Senior Police Officer, Service Dog Handler at the Border Police Station – Malko Tarnovo, 2nd State Border Guard Group; Junior Inspector Valentin Vassilev – Senior Police Officer, Service Dog Handler at the Border Checkpoint – Malko Tarnovo.
Their demonstration revealed to the students the strong bond between handlers and service dogs, built on trust, discipline and daily training. The commands shown and practiced obedience caused a storm applause, and those present did not hide their admiration for the professional training of the officers and their four-legged partners.
The demonstrations were followed by a wave of questions - both to Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov and to the two officers from Malko Tarnovo. The active participation of students and doctoral candidates showed their visible commitment to the issues of border security, migration pressure, new technologies in police activities and the daily work of front-line officers.
The students shared that it is precisely such meetings that give them a real idea of the responsible mission of the Ministry of Interior and the role of the Main Directorate of the "Border Police" in protecting the national interest and the security of citizens.

The event once again confirmed that such initiatives are a vivid example of effective interaction between institutions and society. They are of key importance for building trust, enhancing civic culture and stimulating young people's interest in security-related professions.
The University's management expressed its readiness to continue the stable partnership with the General Directorate of the Border Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the future - in the name of public order, national security and awareness of young people.
