The MES has received information that the director of the 138th SUZIE “Prof. Vasil Zlatarski“ has been detained. The school and the Regional Education Department in Sofia-city are cooperating with the investigation. This was reported by the Ministry of Education in information sent to the media. He was appointed by the head of the Sofia-city Regional Educational and Educational Service after winning a competition in February 2024. Initial information shows that before taking this position he held leadership positions in schools in Sofia district and in the capital. So far, there is no information about any reports against him related to the subject of the investigation.
In the spring of 2025, a report was received against him from teachers regarding the organization of work at the school. An inspection was established, which identified administrative shortcomings and instructions were given.
The Sofia City Educational and Cultural Organization will provide methodological support to the school. Tomorrow they will be on site and will talk to the teachers and parents. There is a readiness to provide a mobile group of psychologists to provide support to the students.
