The difficult part is ahead. The commitment to the people in the square is enormous. We have to do our job, important steps are ahead. This was stated to BNT by Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ and MP from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“.
“We have a presidential council, at which we will discuss removing Peevski from his office. The removal of his security is also to be discussed. We propose that no MP should enjoy privileges – we are talking about Peevski and Borisov. Peevski is more protected than the president and the prime minister“, he emphasized.
He believes that there is no need for the election machines to be under warranty, it is important that they function: “In order to have fair elections, 100% machine voting is needed. The code is public, every party can see it. There were such elections in July 2021, then the bought vote was quite small. There was a paper coalition and everyone remembers – vote buying.”
“We tell the people at the protest that we want fair elections and we are ready to flood the country with observers and advocates. This energy of the protest obliges us”, Mirchev specified.
He did not directly answer the question of what the PP-DB's expectations are towards President Rumen Radev in the context of the upcoming elections.
„We want a full majority. We believe that we can be the first political force. I believe that the country can be governed without a coalition, without assemblies and without compromises. When we have 121 votes, everything that was wanted in the square, we can fulfill in a second“, Mirchev is confident.
When asked if there is a good option for an acting prime minister, he added: „The one that Radev will nominate. It is important who will be the interior minister during the elections.“
