Bulgaria now has a woman as president. The Constitutional Court unanimously confirmed the resignation of Rumen Radev as head of state.

"Yotova was elected directly in a team with the president. They take the same oath before the National Assembly. She assumes the position of president automatically. Yotova is president," said the former Speaker of the Parliament Iva Miteva.

She expects consultations for the caretaker prime minister and cabinet to begin next week, according to her Yotova will not delay them.

"Palmetnis and Easter are coming, the dates are starting to pressure her. She will hold these consultations. She will have to choose from this menu. I do not accept this refusal (to be appointed acting prime minister - editor's note). They are obliged to accept. If they are afraid, then they should not accept the relevant positions. It should be the person who will ensure fair and transparent elections", Miteva commented to Bulgaria ON AIR.

"It seems to me that Andrey Gyurov can best fulfill this task. I do not think there is a legal problem. There is a decision of the CPC, which was canceled and the Administrative Court has said that it is null and void. He is a deputy governor and meets the requirements for prime minister. He is on this menu", the guest pointed out. "In this NA, they have no time for anything. We are observing great stupidity in the National Assembly. I hope that in the next one we will throw the stupidity out of the NA. The Electoral Code determines the party model, that is why there are these battles. What will happen in the National Assembly after that depends on the reshaping of the electoral process," Miteva insisted.

"I wish Borisov and GERB had learned a lesson from 2016 and 2019 and not allowed this to happen," she appealed.

According to Miteva, usually the one who tries to change the electoral law at the last minute receives a severe punishment in the elections. "We understood that the machine is almost the same, it is much more difficult to vote with it. There is also software and two flash drives. The ballot will be long. When you carry this ballot, you mark it with a black dot, it is even visible on the back of the ballot. The vote cannot be saved. These devices must be purchased. "Information service" must place an order", explained Miteva.

The CEC should start public procurement for machine voting from the first day, so that it does not turn out that we will not have machines, the former head of parliament urged.
