The Sofia City Court has refused to enter the formation "Third March" in the register of political parties.
The party was established on December 27, 2025 in Nessebar with its headquarters in Sofia. The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office stated that the legal requirements for registration have been met. This was summarized by "Nova TV".
However, the court has accepted that there is a formal violation. All 616 declarations of individual membership submitted in the case do not contain a date of signing. According to the magistrates, this does not allow establishing whether the declarations were signed within the time limit provided by law - after the publication of the founding declaration and before or by the date of the founding meeting.
The decision states that although the Law on Political Parties does not explicitly require the date to be entered, the established practice of the Supreme Court of Cassation accepts the date as a mandatory requirement. It is necessary to verify whether the founders had voting rights at the relevant time and were not members of other parties.
The court notes that the other requirements of the law have been met - the initiative committee consisted of at least 50 people, the founding meeting was held on time, over 500 founders participated in it, and the party gathered over 2,500 members.
The decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Cassation within seven days.
