A thoracic aneurysm is the cause of death of the 16-year-old boy from Sofia, who died on Sunday during an international swimming competition in Burgas. This was reported by the National Sports Club “Olymp” on Facebook.
Doctors specified for Nova TV that there are two probable causes for the fatal outcome - either a congenital process or overload. The investigation will show which of the two is involved in this case.
At 08:57 on Sunday, a report about the incident was filed on tel. 112. The boy was in the pool during a warm-up when he felt sick. The young man was helped out of the pool, after which he fell unconscious and, despite the resuscitation efforts, died.
The sports club announced that they were organizing a vigil on Monday evening.
