I have not paid my fines because they were not handed to me. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Miroslav Rashkov, who is at a hearing in the National Assembly, together with the Minister of Interior Emil Dechev, on the "Petrohan" case, reported "Focus".
A few days ago, the acting Minister of Interior Emil Dechev proposed to the Council of Ministers to make a decision to submit a proposal to the President for the dismissal of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Miroslav Rashkov.
One of the arguments of the Minister of Interior for the requested resignation was that the Secretary General, who holds the highest professional position in the Ministry of Interior and who should be an example, has not paid his fines for tickets under the Road Traffic Act. According to him, after an ordered inspection and information leak, the amounts owed were repaid.
"I categorically reject all the so-called motives with which my removal as the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior was requested and at the same time I express my serious concerns about the future of the investigation into the "Petrohan" case and the guarantee of objectivity in revealing the full truth," Rashkov said.
MP Atanas Slavov from the PP - DB reminded Rashkov that after the changes to the law in 2023, everyone can pay their fines without having to be handed them by an employee of the Ministry of Interior.
