Six people were detained in Burgas this morning during an operation to combat crimes against citizens' electoral rights. Lists of names were found that are believed to be in connection with the upcoming elections. The sum of 7,000 euros was found at one of the addresses. This was written on Facebook by the acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Georgi Kandev.
He added that the sum of 50 euros was written on the envelopes.
In another operation, again this morning, a search was carried out in a private home and a commercial establishment in Lom, where a notebook with names and numbers was found. 12,780 euros were found in the bedroom of the house. The banknotes were mostly in denominations of 50 euros.
30 people have been detained under the Interior Ministry Act in connection with election violations, Deputy Interior Minister Ivan Anchev announced on Monday. 53 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. Anchev added that 26 are disciplinary proceedings, which are being investigated under the general procedure. According to him, 27 are expedited proceedings.
