He said this on the air of the show "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS, Justice Minister Andrey Yankulov.
"Rusinova also traveled with Kristiyan Hristov - the front person, who, as a result of the activities of Petrov's network, turns out to be the owner of a fairly serious elevator business", Yankulov also said.
"The two trips were in June and August 2021 - more than a year after the publication of the first of the four "series" of "The Eight Dwarfs", the minister explained. And he stated that a proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Rusinova is currently being prepared. It should be sent to the prosecutorial college of the Supreme Judicial Council.
"It is a very worrying circumstance that only the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is competent to deal with investigations into corruption among high-ranking officials, including magistrates. The city prosecutor's office in question, which is supposed to investigate corruption, is currently headed by Rusinova, who in turn has been proven to have had some kind of relationship five years ago with a person who was exposed as the leader of a corruption network in the same justice system," Yankulov commented.
He commented on the signal of pressure and threats from the Bulgarian European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva, submitted to him, and concerning possible actions by Rusinova and the de facto chief prosecutor.
"Teodora Georgieva said that she was taken to the restaurant "Osemte dvujeta" and introduced to this circle by Rusinova. She said this about a month ago. There was no comment from Rusinova on this topic, which we can take as confirmation by silence of this information. If this is not true, Rusinova should have denied it many times by now," the Minister of Justice said, adding that the silence is extremely embarrassing and unacceptable for a person in such a high public position. "In addition to the documentary confirmation of the closeness between Petyo Petrov and Emilia Rusinova, that they traveled together in the same car, in addition to the testimony of Teodora Georgieva, we also have a photo of Rusinova in front of the "Osemte dzhudzheta" restaurant in the company of Petyo Petrov," he said.
"Unfortunately, when Rusinova was elected as the titular city prosecutor of Sofia, the data about her photos with Petyo Petrov in front of the "Osemte dzhudzheta" restaurant were known. We had this data about the photos, we also had data from criminal proceedings conducted over the years, where there were again witness testimonies incriminating Rusinova. It is unacceptable from the personnel authority, which is familiar with this information," Yankulov commented.
He stated that when there is such disturbing public information, the personnel authority must give an adequate answer to the public why it ignores this information and appoints the relevant person to the relevant position. "This thing was not done and this once again discredits the personnel activities of the SJC," Yankulov pointed out.
