Until April 17, Varna Airport will accept several pre-planned landings of transport aircraft “C-17 Globemaster“. The flights are related to the implementation of routine procedures for technical maintenance and refueling of aircraft.
Overflights through Bulgarian airspace and use of the airport infrastructure are carried out in full compliance with current national legislation. The procedures are coordinated in advance with the competent authorities and do not affect the regular flight schedule of the civil airport, but are part of this schedule.
The flights are carried out on the basis of a reciprocal permanent (block) diplomatic permit, granted by our country under current legislation. The Ministry of Defense is not the institution that ensures the granting of permanent (block) diplomatic permits.
Permanent (block) permits are also issued for aircraft of other countries.
