The prices of goods and services are under the sights of the CPA and NRA. The two institutions held a joint briefing on inspections for unjustified price increases, summarized "Nova TV".

The National Revenue Agency has begun daily monitoring of the retail fuel market. The data show that in March, despite higher prices, there was an increase in the quantities sold. A total of 353 million and 300 thousand liters of fuel were sold, which is 23% more than in February. The largest growth was recorded for diesel - 25.2%, followed by A-95 gasoline - 23.6%, and propane-butane - 17.9%

During the first 14 days of April, compared to the last 14 days of March, there was a decrease in diesel sales by 10%, but an increase in gasoline and LPG. According to the latest data, the price of a liter of gasoline is 1.48 euros, and diesel - 1.77 euros. Compared to February 28, the price of gasoline has increased by 19.9%, and diesel has become more expensive by 38.8%. In March alone, diesel recorded a growth of 19.6% compared to February, A-95 gasoline - 11.01%, and LPG - 1.77%. 12%.

VAT revenues from fuel sales in March amounted to 86.8 million euros, which is 23.9% more than in the same period last year and 44.3% more than in February.

There are 3,686 gas stations registered in the country, with over 820 inspections carried out in the last month. At 475 retailers, an increase in the margin was found for at least one type of fuel, and additional documents were requested to justify the price changes. Inspections are also being carried out in the ten largest chains. At 48 sites, an increase in prices was reported for the three types of fuel, and at 88 sites - for diesel and gasoline. In most cases, gas stations increase the price of only one type of fuel and reduce the margin on the others.

The National Revenue Agency warns that if an unjustified increase is found, acts will be drawn up under the Euro Adoption Act.

In parallel, intensified inspections are also underway in the retail network. In the period from April 6 to 13, 639 inspections were carried out, with the results to be announced in about 15 days.

The Consumer Protection Commission reports that nearly 9 thousand inspections were carried out together with the National Revenue Agency, during which 863 acts were drawn up, or about 10% of violations. The most common violations are with seasonal goods such as fruits, vegetables, coffee, chocolate and sausages.

The number of complaints received from consumers is 16,100, with a decreasing trend. Additionally, 133 inspections were carried out at gas stations, where 6 cases of unjustified price increases were identified.

Over 400 sites were inspected during the Easter campaign, with the most serious increases being reported for services and food products. Prices for public parking lots increased by 100%, in fitness centers - by about 160%, transport services - up to 67%, and for hairdressing and cosmetic services - between 17% and 100%. In catering establishments, the increases ranged between 10% and 40%.

In terms of food, the largest increase was seen in tomatoes - 61.9% for the period from March 1 to April 15. White cabbage increased in price by nearly 30%, sausages - by 20%, fresh pork - by by over 10%, cheese – also by over 10%, yellow cheese and yogurt – by about 8%, white bread – by 7%, and eggs – by over 5%.
