„We will aim to defend the Bulgarian Constitution in the next parliament.” This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP Krum Zarkov on the Day of the Bulgarian Constitution and the professional holiday of lawyers in Bulgaria.
He met with citizens in Samokov, together with the leader of the local list Vladimir Georgiev and candidates for MPs of the BSP-UNITED LEFT.
According to Zarkov, the Bulgarian socialists have the greatest contribution to the writing of the 1991 Constitution. „The Bulgarian Constitution contains a charter of human rights and guarantees political pluralism. It is a guarantor of nothing less than our freedom. And without freedom there can be no solidarity.”, Zarkov emphasized.
According to him, however, for 35 years it has been violated: “It looks like a facade of a real power, exercised by scoundrels and oligarchs, who first concentrated economic power, and then turned it into political. This Constitution is still blamed today for what happens most often precisely by those who violated it the most.”
