Tension with the protocols in Vratsa - 1

In Vratsa, about 75% of the section commissions have been counted so far. The count is being carried out in the theater building, where there are still dozens of waiting commissions, bTV reported.

According to data from the Regional Election Commission, there are about 60 sections left, whose protocols are yet to be accepted and processed.

The Chairperson of the Regional Election Commission - Vratsa, Lora Mladenova, stated that the interim results correspond to the national picture. “At the moment, “Progressive Bulgaria“ is in first place, followed by GERB-SDF, and PP-DB is in third place“, she indicated. The processing is expected to be completed around noon, with the deadline for submitting the results to the Central Election Commission being 5:30 p.m.

Despite the progress in the count, some members of the section commissions expressed serious dissatisfaction with the organization. A representative of a commission from Kozloduy described the conditions as extremely difficult.

“Every year it's the same - nothing improves. We stand in lines for hours, we haven't slept for 24-36 hours. It's cold, the conditions are bad, and the bags with the materials weigh over 20 kilograms“, she shared. According to her, carrying the ballot papers is a serious physical strain, especially for teams composed entirely of women.

Among the proposals of the participants in the process are decentralization of the adoption of protocols by municipalities or the introduction of an electronic system for data transmission, in order to facilitate the work and reduce the administrative burden.

However, the REC emphasized that at the moment there are no significant delays in the processing itself, with the slower pace being mainly due to the desire for greater precision in entering the data.

Despite the fatigue and stress, some of the commission members say that the efforts are worth it.
