Dushana Zdravkova: This is Gabriel's personal failure. She must have learned that in the EU the way in which it is negot

"This time, it is a pity that these efforts, agreements and a 9-month period failed, the efforts of us, the citizens, also failed, you know how many protests there were, I am an active participant in Varna and Sofia, chasing from the kindergarten of the National Theater. Some people came, promised, arrested, declared what they would not do. They came and put some people in the first rows in the National Assembly. We swallowed that too in order to make something happen. And I don't understand why they didn't bring these negotiations to an end, commented the former MEP and founder of the Civil Movement GERB

Dushana Zdravkova: This is Gabriel's personal failure. She must have learned that in the EU the way in which it is negot - 1

There should be a strategy, clear steps and explaining at each step what is being done and what the purpose of the negotiations is. Piecemeal reporting is not a solution.

This is how Dushana Zdravkova, judge, former MEP and founder of the Civil Movement GERB, commented on the negotiations for a government, the so-called rotation, in an interview with the BNR.

„This is a personal failure of Maria Gabriel, if any of the people are not aware, she has been in the European institutions for more than 10 years and must have learned that the way in which negotiations are done is important in the EU . Compromises are made in order to achieve some goals, said Zdravkova in the program “12+3”.

She gave an example of the difficulties in negotiating the Treaty of Lisbon:

„It was in danger of not being signed because of the referendum in Ireland and I know what it cost our committee to bring the negotiations to a successful conclusion. Our committee discussed the progress of the negotiations, not who said what and who they offended. A strategy was made, we did not see such a plan in these negotiations. There had to be clear steps and explaining to people what was being done and what the end goal was. This is how the EC works, in which Gabriel participates, this is how the institutions in the EC work.

According to Zdravkova, there was the opposite logic in the negotiations about the rotation: “Here there are steps that need to be drawn, Gabriel should have put them into practice, as is done in the European institutions”.
Dushana Zdravkova is adamant that “everyone can overdo everything if there is no standard for conducting negotiations, as there are in European countries and institutions”.

„If this is not learned and not applied in negotiations in a European country such as Bulgaria, this is my conclusion - why it failed. The standard was missing“, said the former MEP.

For her personally, elections are not a bad thing, because we have to make a choice every day. And about the completed or unfinished negotiations for the rotation, he shared:

„This time it is a pity that these efforts, agreements and a 9-month period failed, the efforts of us, the citizens, also failed, you know how many protests there were, I am an active participant in Varna and Sofia, being kicked out of kindergarten of the National Theatre. Some people came, promised, arrested, declared what they would not do. They came and put some people in the first rows in the National Assembly. We swallowed that too in order to make something happen. And I don't understand why they didn't bring these negotiations to an end. It was clear from the very beginning - rotation and the Prime Minister and the ministers of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs change, and nothing else necessitated these painful and fruitless negotiations.
Zdravkova also commented on the judicial reform, saying that the constitutional changes are palliative for the most painful part – the prosecutor's office.

„How to make a reform with only two prosecutors elected by the guild and six from the National Assembly. Do you think that there will be no political influence, influence in the selection of a new chief prosecutor” asked judge Zdravkova rhetorically.

Regarding the chief prosecutor, she believes that “Sarafov is a copy-paste of Geshev”:

„And now the same line of behavior continues. Today I reviewed the Code of Ethics for Magistrates and I see that there is almost no text that was not violated in the election of Sarafov and his behavior.

Her opinion on the commissions for the “Notary“ is:

It is one thing to make declarations, it is another to work for a change in the judicial system. I think that to some extent Kiril Petkov has the right to say, everyone has the right to say that part of the suspension of the negotiations is because someone wants to postpone once again the judicial reform, no matter how palliative it is.
