End of the second mandate: GERB-SDS rejected the proposal of PP-DB - 1

GERB–SDS will not participate in attempts to form a government with the second and third terms. This is stated by the party in response to a letter sent by PP–DB about the implementation of the upcoming second exploratory mandate for forming a government within the framework of the 49th National Assembly.

"From the very beginning, the GERB negotiating team – The SDF entered the talks with good will for an agreement that takes into account the national interest first, the electoral weight of the individual parliamentary groups and with a desire for mutual respect for the voters of both parties. In none of these intentions of ours, the other party was heard and willing to seek common solutions", the party stated in its response.

„This continuous pressure and political racket" should have been stopped

, indicated by GERB.

„And the end was done with dignity by Maria Gabriel, submitting an application to the National Assembly and PG of GERB-SDS to withdraw the stated implementation of the exploratory mandate to form a government with a candidate for Prime Minister Maria Gabriel,'' writes in the letter.

The GERB-SDS consider it “inappropriate" the proposal of PP–DB for implementation of a second mandate with their participation.

„We from GERB-SDS have always been honest with the Bulgarian citizens, who have repeatedly given us their trust, and on this basis we have governed the country solely and only in the interest of the people. And today we will be honest with them and declare that we will not participate in attempts to form a government with the second and third terms. "Let the Bulgarian citizens, through elections, decide who and how Bulgaria should be governed," reads the conclusion of the letter signed by the party's leader Boyko Borisov, but also by the group's vice-presidents Temenuzka Petkova, Denitsa Sacheva and Raya Nazaryan.

We remind you that the first mandate to form a government with Prime Minister candidate Maria Gabriel ended today unsuccessfully.

The decision was voted with 226 votes "for", no against and one "abstention" (from PP-DB).

Maria Gabriel was not present in the plenary hall during the voting and discussion of the decision.

On March 18, President Rumen Radev handed a mandate to form a government to the candidate for Prime Minister, nominated by the largest parliamentary group GERB-SDS - Maria Gabriel.

On March 19, Gabriel returned the completed mandate of President Rumen Radev with the composition of a draft cabinet, and in the afternoon the head of state signed a decree proposing to the 49th National Assembly to elect as prime minister the candidate proposed by the first in number parliamentary group.
