It has been noticed in the last few days, I would say for a week, an attempt by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and GERB to sabotage the activity of the temporary commission for verification of facts and circumstances related to the activities of the group around Martin Bojanov. The facts point to higher levels than what Martin Bojanov occupied – The notary and Petar Petrov – The Euro, that is, the connection between the two of them is becoming more and more apparent. In his words, the absence of GERB-SDS and DPS from yesterday's meeting of the committee on the activities of the group around Martin Bojanov leads to the conclusion that they are afraid of the final result that the committee may reach in the hearing of the people. Rashkov said that they have a lot of requests to include various citizens, lawyers and lawyers who will give a much “broader light“ in connection with the activity of influencing the judicial and political authorities.
I have reason to assume that Martin Bojanov and Petar Petrov were in contact with high political levels, which allowed them to receive direct information against whom pre-trial proceedings are being conducted, against which persons are being audited in the tax and other spheres, and in such a way they targeted the citizens affected by the actions of state bodies, said the MP from PP-DB. According to him, this allowed them to develop their blackmail and fraudulent activities.
When asked if it is possible that the chairman of the DPS Delyan Peevski was involved in the plot, Rashkov said that this plot is not only possible, but it is assumed by facts that are known. Peevski was in the investigative department of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office for less than a year, where Petar Petrov worked – Euro as head of this department and other notables at a later date, he added.
Rashkov clarified that he does not share the comments regarding turning the commission's work into an “election campaign”, because the commission was formed almost two months ago, and then there was no tendency to go to early elections.
When asked if he was referring to Boyko Borisov's office as a link in the executive power, Rashkov answered “not only Borisov”.
The commission was established on February 7 this year. It is made up of 17 people's representatives on a proportional basis – five from GERB-SDS, four from “We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB), three from “Vazrazhdane”, three from DPS, one from “BSP for Bulgaria” and one from “There is such a people”. The term of the commission's work is three months, and all facts and circumstances surrounding the possible presence of persons and organized groups of influence in the judicial system in connection with the publicly disclosed information about the activities of Martin Bojanov, known by the nickname Notary, must be established.
