President Rumen Radev expressed concern about the state's finances. He turned the tape back a year ago, when the then caretaker prime minister, Gulab Donev, warned that if the populist policies in finance continued, the real deficit would be 6.8%
„I am very worried that this deficit of 3% at the end of last years is the result of special financial gymnastics and forced pressure of the deficit with the emptying of the Energy System Security Fund, where we left 850 million, with the decapitalization of energy companies of huge sizes, games with VAT and with the money of the municipalities – “ here there is, here there is none“ and many other things that need to be analyzed," the president said.
Radev called on Dimitar Glavchev to make a thorough analysis of the state's finances in the Ministry of Finance and to clearly explain what it is all about.
„This forcibly imposed 3% deficit and a number of gymnastics, there is a danger that this year will shoot up, as well as inflation”, the head of state added.
Concerns about public finances expressed at the meeting of “Dondukov“ 2 and GERB-SDS deputy Temenuzka Petkova “In the last few days, information has appeared that large amounts of spending are being carried out. This is worrying and poses significant risks. The first is with the liquidity of the social system, how will this affect the budget against the background of the aspiration to the Eurozone”, she pointed out. Petkova stated that the behavior of the resigned Finance Minister Asen Vassilev is very worrying.
„We made a decision to limit the expenditure of the official office, these expenses must be checked,”, she also urged.
