The prosecutor's office has ceased to be a political player. We have now received another proof of this. The comment was made to the BNR by the journalist from "Capital". Yovo Nikolov and added:
"GERB and DPS want to preserve the status quo convenient for them and force the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to resign. That's why they made him this operative combination, because otherwise it is much more difficult to remove the chief secretary - you need a proposal from the prime minister, which goes to the president and he issues a decree. The attempts are to comprehensively cover the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the goal is the upcoming elections".
He expressed the opinion that the plots with the arrest of the head of customs and the resignation of the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are developing in the way that the manipulations of the prosecutor's office have always developed:
"First there is a noisy arrest with journalists warned in advance, then we have rumors in the media, then we have some leaked photos, then we have extracts from special intelligence tools (SRS), various insinuations. The protocol of the interrogation of Zhivko Kotsev (Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - b.r.), which leaked, is authentic, but it should be an investigative secret. The way in which the whole process is conducted is absolutely orchestrated by the prosecutor's office and all kinds of suggestions are made by the prosecutor's office. The only authentic thing that was not dictated by the prosecutor's office is the letter of the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov to the ad hoc prosecutor Daniela Taleva. Everything else that comes out in the media is thrown in to direct public attention in their desired direction. At the moment, we see how the state itself - in the person of the prosecutor's office and the special services - behaves like a mafia - with a racket, with hidden things. This makes me think that all these things are not subject to revealing the truth, but to an attempt to preserve positions in certain offices, ministries, government offices and customs.
If the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior has committed any transgressions, let him be accused of the relevant crimes, and not put a condition on him to resign or he will be arrested, said Yovo Nikolov, and specified that in the rule of law there is no action this way.
All manipulations are a deliberately sought-after effect to mask everyone, to say that everyone is the same, the journalist believes.
According to him, we are witnessing the conquered state and contrary to the cliché that the state has a mafia – in our country the state is the mafia:
"And with all the tools of the state, all the methods of the SRS, the capabilities of the special services, of the prosecutor's office. Everything collapses on some case, just to stay in the same quagmire".
