I think that the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov is very mistaken about pressure from the system on the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zhivko Kotsev. He has spoken, but pressured by external circumstances – he probably realized that his relationship with those arrested on charges of being an organized criminal group would have to be revealed (author's note - the published photos of Zhivko Kotsev with the smuggler Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi).
This was stated to bTV by Lyudmil Rangelov, who defends the arrested head of the "Customs" Agency. Petya Bankova, quoted by novini.bg.
"It seems from Kotsev's behavior that he made a deal with the chief prosecutor,", the lawyer revealed.
According to the lawyer, Petya Bankova is unfamiliar with high political games.
In the case, there is no information about Kalin Stoyanov's relationship with the defendants, advocate Rangelov added.
"In principle, he can get away, but this is a temporary protection", the defender also said regarding whether Kotsev will get away only as a witness in the case, without being accused.< /p>
"The Attorney General can provide him nothing, only this temporary protection,", he revealed.
Rangelov warned – if he had specific information about smuggling channels, he should have reported it on time, as chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and also in a moral sense. Rangelov specified that when submitting information, Kotsev must do it in such a way that there are documentary traces – Rangelov emphasized that such a thing is not yet known.
