The decree puts an end to a failed political experiment - the so-called assembly. President Rumen Radev commented this before the swearing-in of the "Glavchev" cabinet, quoted by BNT.
"10 months ago, I called on Prime Minister Denkov not to implement it because of the anti-democratic requests in the PP record, despite this, the government was created and failed because of greed for power and self-interest, he commented.
The mutual accusations between the until recently partners do not exempt them from responsibility, he stressed.
"This cabinet is being created for the first time under the new provisions of the Constitution and the frantic desire of the parties of the assembly to take away the powers of the president in relation to the caretaker government. Unlike all caretaker governments up to now, in this one I have not interfered in any way with regard to personnel policy and I am not responsible for his actions.
Not issuing the decree or removing certain names would mean violating the changes in the Constitution, commented Radev and pointed out that those who wrote the new rules did not know them.
Regarding Kalin Stoyanov stated:
"Here I will use the arguments that the PP-DB last year insisted that I release by decree the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Petar Todorov. The arguments were that according to the Constitution, the CM is responsible for public order and security in the country, not the president. It should be clear that Prime Minister Glavchev will rule the country.
