The caretaker deputy prime minister and finance minister Lyudmila Petkova appointed Georgi Yordanov as director of the Agency for State Financial Inspection, reports the Ministry of Finance. Ilka Dimova-Mazgaleva has been dismissed from her post, BNR reported.
Georgi Yordanov has extensive administrative experience gained in expert and managerial positions. From January 2022 until now, he is the head of the internal audit unit of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. In February 2020, he was appointed chairman of the State Commission on Gambling, and after its closure, he was appointed adviser to the Minister of Finance until May 2021, after which he engaged in audit activities in the real sector.
From 2014 to 2020, he was the head of the office of the Minister of Finance. He was the head of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Environment and Water. In the period from December 2010 to April 2014, he was a state inspector in the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance.
From January 2000 to October 2010, he successively held the positions of Director of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Chief Secretary of the National Office for Plant Protection. His professional career began in 1995 as a tax inspector in the tax administration in the city of Pleven.
