District Prosecutor's Office-Vidin self-reports on social media posts and in the national media alleging that a 104-year-old woman was admitted to a medical facility in the city, where she was tied up and not given food and water.
On 22.04.2024, a message was published on social networks from the profile of the user D.B. about the old woman being kept “tied by the four limbs“. After a 5-day stay in the hospital, the patient was discharged with bruises on her limbs.
On the case, the RU-Vidin has been commissioned to carry out an investigation, taking information from all persons familiar with the case, including the medical staff and doctors who cared for the patient.
It is ordered to request all medical documentation from the medical facility, to establish, by taking a report from the attending physician, the condition of the elderly woman at the time she was admitted to the hospital and after discharge, to request information from the IA &bdquo ;Medical supervision“ whether the agency is investigating the case and what the results are.
