The Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev stated at the beginning of the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers that with the finance minister had to put out two fires this week, Dariknews.bg reports.
"One of them was in the "Agriculture" sector. The farmers, according to an agreement of February 12, were promised by April 22 that they would be paid the funds under the so-called "Ukrainian aid". In 2 days, we literally found how to make this happen - 300 million were foreseen. In addition, we have made a commitment that they will be paid by May 15. The second fire was with the miners and energy workers from "Mini Maritsa East" and Bobovdol. Yesterday, with a decree and decision of the Court of Justice, we provided for them also 250 million, which will be paid by the end of the year after receiving a notification from the EC," Glavchev said, using a metaphor for the complicated situation they had to deal with.
He summed up the situation with a sentence: "You can fool a lot of people for a short time, a few people for a long time, but you can't fool everyone forever".
The Acting Prime Minister also noted that the impact on the budget balance is neutral. "There is no worsening of the budget balance, no increase in the budget deficit. Our targets for the Eurozone in 2025 remain the same. We continue with the efforts we are making. There is no way to just kick the ball and make protocol meetings, we just keep the pace that we have taken with the whole team", Dimitar Glavchev also said.
