The election campaign should be fair and transparent. To reduce degrees of tension. But who am I to give advice to political parties? This was stated by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev to journalists, quoted by novini.bg.
Three times more numbers will be processed from the election records than in previous elections. The number in the RICs is the same. This will cause the official results to be delayed. So that there is no speculation that something is being done "in the dark" I am reporting this fact to you. The number of RICs has been determined according to the Electoral Code. Let's not build up the tension that the election results are being delayed, pointed out Glavchev.
"Whatever depends on us, we will do it. We are carrying out logistics and we are until election day. The Central Election Commission takes over from there. We make sure that there is no buying and selling of votes", he added.
The prime minister did not specify exactly how long the delay will be. "I am sure they will deal with it in the shortest possible time. I appeal to the society for more tolerance, as one has to get into a situation. If all institutions work in sync, the result will be good," Glavchev added.
The official prime minister also commented on the presidential elections in the Republic of North Macedonia: "They still don't have final results. Let's see what kind of government will be formed. We hope they continue their European perspective. We have nowhere to make more concessions. Our position is pan-European. It is clear to our friends from North Macedonia that if they do not comply with the requirements for EU membership – there is no way to get it".
Glavchev expressed hope that by the end of the year Bulgaria will be a full member of Schengen. "Yesterday I had a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union and NATO. Everyone expressed support, including from Austria. We expect this to happen by the end of the year. There an injustice will be liquidated. We are technically ready for Schengen membership a long time ago, Dimitar Glavchev noted.
The Prime Minister specified that he held a meeting with the mayor of Malko Tarnovo because of problems at the border crossing. "The border post does not meet the requirements and there is a lot of crowding, especially on holidays. It is more touristic. Within 10 days, they will present us with a project on how to expand the point. After it there is a problem with the road. Soon the point will be expanded. It is about the three points we have with Turkey – Lesovo and Kapitan Andreevo. The flow of people and goods increases. Kapitan Andreevo is the second largest customs point in the world, it is expected to be the first within a year", Glavchev also commented.
