The weather is getting warmer – there will be more sun and less rain. Prof. Georgi Rachev said this in the bTV studio.
„There has been a lot of banter in the space about the colder weather over the past few days – like we're in arctic spring. We are two and a half degrees below the norm for this period of the year. It's normal for people to complain. We always complain – some are warm and others are cold”, he explained.
Prof. Rachev recalled that we had one of the warmest winters, and in March and early April the temperatures sometimes reached 30 degrees. At the same time, for the second day in Sofia, the thermometers did not show more than 13 degrees.
„The good news is that the warming of the whole of Bulgaria starts from Friday and will continue on Saturday. In the afternoon hours of Sunday, however, a cumulonimbus cloud will appear – especially over Western Bulgaria. In the eastern parts of the country, however, it can only drip”, he added.
According to him, our drinking reservoirs are full and that is good news.
„During the next week, it will not rain in Sofia from morning to evening, but there will be clouds in the afternoon with short-term precipitation. The rain will be insignificant – something will drip, but it can also get away. Typical for the second half of May”, the professor also announced.
From his words it became clear that the weather in Plovdiv will be similar to that in Sofia. Temperatures there will be 23-25 degrees. “There will be sunny hours, but it will also be quite dynamic there, because thunderclouds will appear,”, he explained.
Prof. Rachev also predicts that in Varna there will be a slight warming of both the air and the sea – the temperature of the sea water there is already around 15-16 degrees. There will be no precipitation there until the end of next week.
„ Ruse, as a representative of the continental climate, will see some high temperatures – 26-27 degrees. There will be plenty of sunny hours there, Prof. Rachev also noted.
