The deputy mayor for legal affairs of the Sofia Municipality should be released immediately, because with this behavior Sofia will lose its elevators, Georgi Georgiev, deputy chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, member of GERB, told journalists occasion of the closure of the Simeon lift, BTA reported.
In his words, the result of the inaction of the mayor of Sofia is the closure of the Simeon lift.
The contract for the privatization of the elevator was concluded on July 26, 2007, and at that time there was not a single GERB municipal councilor in the Municipal Council, which took the decision on privatization, he added. We pay attention to the behavior of the mayor from his public surprise, and in addition, they speak untruths and mislead the citizens, accepting the thesis of the privatizer that the period of privatization control had expired. This term is 25 years, which means that until 2032, the Metropolitan Municipality has all the rights to exercise control so that the lift can work, he added. According to him, the problem lies in inaction and ignorance. The mayor of Sofia and his colleagues should read the contract to understand how they can protect the people of Sofia, and not repeat the convenient thesis of the privatizer, Georgiev added.
We want an extraordinary meeting to be held on May 25 to listen to the mayor Vasil Terziev, said Anton Hekimyan, a member of the party.
After years of criminal inaction on the part of the then rulers, we are on the way to finally lose the Simeonovsky lift, states the position of the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council Tsvetomir Petrov, sent to the media yesterday by the press center of the institution.
"I want to remind that it was sold by the Metropolitan Municipality to “Vitosha ski“ back in 2007 and from then until last year – nothing. All deadlines for post-privatization control have already expired. What the contract was and how it was followed can be checked and investigated, but now the situation is this – the elevator is not functioning”, points out Petrov.
„We are already working on drawing up a Vision for Vitosha. I was at one of the first meetings of all interested parties and I think the colleagues are working hard, he adds in the position.
The chairman recalls that a decision was voted in the municipal council to make Vitosha's roads entirely municipal, as at the moment, according to him, ownership is fragmented. This will make it possible for the municipality to make basic repairs, and not just fix potholes and clean the roads in the winter, he also points out.
On the website of “Vitosha ski“ a message was published stating that “the lifts are undergoing maintenance and will not work until the start of the summer season”.
