Sofia's appellate prosecutor Radoslav Dimov has resigned and is leaving the judicial system, Nova TV reported. According to unofficial information, the reasons for this are personal. His name was involved with Martin Bojanov - the Notary, who was killed at the end of January.

Radoslav Dimov was elected appellate prosecutor of Sofia in September 2019. Before that, he headed the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office.

Dimov himself requested and was heard by the Prosecutor's College in February, after Greek businessmen involved his name in the scandal surrounding the Notary. “I want, so to speak, to clear my name and in front of me, my family and my children”, he said then.

As a former district prosecutor of Sofia, Dimov explained that he had heard of Martin Bojanov, but did not know him personally. “I have heard of him, of course, everyone has heard in the District Attorney's Office and in the District Court, I suppose. "I know he is a fraud," he told the staff.

After Bojanov's murder, Greek businessman Anastasios Dikos told the media how the business of shipping magnate John Koustas was harassed by people close to the Notary. Dikos claimed that Radoslav Dimov called their lawyer Alexander Chervenyakov and told him: “Regarding a problem you have with your Greek clients, let's meet to see how to solve it”. But such a meeting was refused.

At the same time, the name of Radoslav Dimov was also mentioned in a report presented to the deputies by the temporary parliamentary commission, which was supposed to clarify all the facts and circumstances of unregulated influence in the judicial system of Bojanov's group.

The resignation will be considered by the Prosecution College of the Supreme Judicial Council in the coming days.
