In Sliven there is an action against the trading of votes for the upcoming elections. The special operation started at 6 am in the district. “Hope“, bTV reports.
Since the beginning of the election campaign in ODMVR-Sliven, four signals of vote trading have been received.
„At the moment, no conclusion can be made about the price of one vote. There is no real offer, but attempts to influence“, explained Commissioner Dimitar Kikiov
„From the immediate procedural actions we are carrying out, we found notebooks in one of the commercial establishments. There are lists and faces. We are clarifying whether it concerns versions. Sometimes it's about forgiving debts and getting people to vote for certain people. The amounts are different. Another address is being checked. There will be a search as there are supposed to be lists of people,” he added.
„Emergency actions have begun at several addresses in the territory of the entire district. There are two people arrested for stealing from a church, Kikiov added.
Strengthened inspections of vehicles, commercial establishments and private addresses are being carried out in Sliven, Nova Zagora, Kotel and Tvarditsa. Seven vote-buying signals are being worked on.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated against two of them. Checks are being carried out on the remaining signals.
Since the beginning of the operation, three people have been detained - one for a robbery in Nova Zagora and two from the city of Sliven for burglary from the church in the Sliven district "Rechitsa".
The operation involved the forces and means of the Zonal Gendarmerie Department - Burgas and the Special Tactical Actions sector of the ODMVR-Sliven.
